Prenuptial parties honor Friday - Boone Heather Leigh Friday and Joseph Francis Boone Jr. were honored recently at numerous showers. Miscellaneous Tea Miss Friday and Mr. Boone Jr. were honored at a miscellaneous tea on Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Selma Country Club in Selma. Hosting the event were Mrs. Pinckney Alsobrook, Mrs. Ronald Blackmon, Mrs. Edgar Greene, Mrs. Kitty Kynard, Mrs. Leah McLaughlin, Mrs. Ray Davis, Mrs. Aubrey Guinn, Mrs. Alston Keith, Mrs. Mary Lain Peel, Mrs. Charles Reedy, Mrs. Donnie Walton, Mrs. Keith Meyer, Mrs. Tony Lee, Mrs. Tommy Treese, Mrs. Garry Mosely, Mrs. Stephen Kopp, Mrs. Harold Speir, Mrs. Cecil Redd, Mrs. John Nettles, Mrs. Thomas Powell, Mrs. John Morton, Mrs. Thomas King, Mrs. Paul Duke, Mrs. Robert Currey, Mrs. Lynn Kendall, Mrs. Mike Dubose and Mrs. Robert Morrow. Special guests attending were Mrs. Urban Friday, Mrs. James Crowder and Mrs. Ralph Friday, all of Selma, mother and grandmothers of the bride-elect respectively, and Mrs. Joseph Boone Sr. of Jackson, mother of the groom. Decorations of yellow roses and lemons were used throughout the house. Special gifts were given to the honorees individually by the hostesses. Bridal Coffee The First United Methodist Church parlor was the site of a bridal coffee honoring Heather Leigh Friday on Saturday, March 24. Hostesses for the event included Alba Bailey, Edwina Bell, Maurene Bolen, Linda Breedlove, Dianna Brown, Kathy Brown, Linda Chastain, El Myra Cleiland, Dottie Fore, Joyce Garris, Anne Lewis, Seritha Pezent, Ernestine Reeves, Ginger Reeves, Peggy Strong and Nancy Woodson. Special guests were the brideelect's mother and grandmothers, Mrs. Buddy Alsobrook, Mrs. Roy Howell, all of Selma; the prospective groom's mother of Jackson; Mrs. David Stewart, and Mrs. Ben Grimes, both of Birmingham, Ashley Stewart of Auburn, Mrs. Ernie Owen of Montgomery and Mrs. Frances Stroud of Gulfport, Miss. Tables were decorated with spring flowers arranged in a silver epergne. An assortment of finger food, nuts and cheese straws were served with punch and coffee. Miss Friday received china and stainless from the hostesses. Cocktail Buffet Easter was the theme of a cocktail buffet for the couple at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Guy of Jackson on Saturday, March 24. Along with the parents of the couple, special guests included Mr. and Mrs. David Stewart, Ashley Stewart, Frances Stroud, Harriett Owen and Anne Grimes. Guests were served ham, shrimp paté, marinated vegetables, cheese and fruit platter in the dining room, as well as a variety of dips and meat balls served throughout the home and backyard. Bubba Deas entertained as D.J. Lawn and Garden Shower A lawn and garden shower, Saturday, April 7, was held at the home of Seana Le Ann Wade of Prattville. Co-hosting the affair were Dayna Renee Burnett and Mrs. Ben Chambliss. Special guests included Mr. and Mrs. Urban Friday, parents of the bride, and Mrs. Joseph Boone Sr. , mother of the groom. Hamburgers, dips and chips, drinks and cookies with the honoree's names were served.
Outside tables were decorated with potted plants that were given to the couple along with hand yard tools and a Home Depot gift card by the hostesses.
