Washington County Junior Miss Scholarship Program 2008
 | | Elizabeth Howell was chosen last year as Washington County's 2007 Junior Miss. She will represent the county at the 50th annual America's Junior Miss National Finals in Mobile, June 28, 29 and 30. |

The Washington County Junior Miss program will be conducted at the Washington County High School auditorium June 9, at 7 p.m.
The theme for the program is "Making Dreams Come True." It is sponsored by the Chatom Woman's Club. There are nine contestants in this year's program.
National sponsors of American Junior Miss include Mobile County, the city of Mobile and the Mitchell Company. National category sponsors include Alabama Power, Encore Rehabilitation, Mobile Gas, Regions Bank and Wintzell's Oyster House.
The 50th annual America's Junior Miss National Finals will be in Mobile, June 28, 29 and 30.
 | | Charlotte Annette Goldman attends Washington County High School. She hopes to attend the University of Alabama and major in pediatric medicine. Her activities and honors include Gold Duster dance team member, WCHS softball team, attends Family Life Community Church, American All-Star Dance Team, WCHS concert band, FCCLA, Sophomore Christmas Princess. For the talent competition she will perform a dance and tumbling routine to "The Pirates Cave" by Klaus Badelt. |

 | | Brittney Nicole Daniels attends Millry High School. She hopes to attend the Southern University and become a pediatrician. Her activities and honors include serving as a band officer, dance team member, newspaper staff, class officer, student council officer, Fellowship of Christian Athletes member, FCCLA, Washington County Camellia Maid, teachers aide and a member of the homecoming court. For the talent competition she will perform a vocal and dance routine of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" by Whitney Houston. |

 | | Amy Marlene Thomas attends Jackson Academy. She hopes to attend Troy University and major in elementary education. Her activities and honors include Interact Club, Beta Club, PCA reporter, American Cancer Society volunteer, Church youth group secretary, cheerleader captain, gymnastics, hospice volunteer, volleyball captain and a member of the softball team. In the talent competition she will perform an acrobatic dance routine of "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend" by Nicole Kidman from Moulin Rouge. |

 | | Julian Anne Schell attends Washington County High School. She hopes to attend Auburn University and major in counseling psychology. Her activities and honors include mission trips to Florida, Canada and Uruguay, Chatom Youth Theater Group participant, Washington County Camellia Maid, member of Chatom Baptist Church and youth program, Chatom Baptist choir member, band member, traveling, yearbook staff, Fellowship of Christian Athletes member and Red Cross volunteer. For the talent competition she will perform "Shy-Broadway's Once Upon a Mattress" by Mary Rodgers and Marsha Barer. |

 | | Tiffany Melanie Howard attends Washington County High School. She hopes to attend the University of Alabama and major in pre-law. Her activities and honors include teaching vacation bible school, member of the Tibbie Baptist Church youth group, cheerleader for two years, played SYSA soccer for three years, member of the student council, "Bulldog" staff reporter for two years, marching/concert band for two years, drawing as a hobby, teaching and taking dance, part of the cast of "Music Man Production. For the talent competition she will perform a sign language routine of "Indescribable" by Chris Tomlin. |

 | | Charlotte Laine Beech attends Washington County High School. She hopes to attend the University of South Alabama and major in pediatric medicine. Her activities and honors include several mission trips with her church youth group, AseraCare Hospice volunteer, holding the position of prom chairman, co-editor of the school newspaper, member of the yearbook staff, last spring's softball team statistician, participant in the Chatom Youth Theater Group, works as a clerk for Mac's Drugs in Jackson, babysitting service and invited to play trumpet for several functions. For the talent competition she will perform a trumpet instrumental of "It Don't Mean a Thing" by Duke Ellington. |

 | | Whitney Melissa Smith attends Leroy High School. She hopes to attend the University of Alabama and major in pediatric nursing. Her activities and honors include Leroy First Baptist Church youth group member, National Junior Honor Society, National Honor Society, Interact Club, gymnast and coach at Gymnastics Unlimited, swimmer for Jackson Waverunners and cheerleader for Leroy High School. For the talent competition she will perform a gymnastics routine of "Cell Block Tango" by Broadway's Chicago. |

 | | Kathryn Jaclyn Williams attends Fruitdale High School. She hopes to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and major in business administration. Her activities and honors include Beta Club, National Honor Roll, volleyball team member, cheerleading squad, dance team, softball team, church youth group and youth choir. For the talent competition she will perform a jazz dance routine to "If My Friends Could See Me Now" from "Sweet Charity" by Shirley McLaine. |

 | | Courtney Leanne Baxter attends Fruitdale High School. She hopes to attend the University of Southern Mississippi and major in elementary education. Her activities and honors include Beta Club, co-captain varsity cheerleader, journalism, dance team, softball, homecoming maid and fourth runner-up for Miss FHS. For the talent competition she will perform a dance routine to "Holding Out for a Hero" by Bonnie Tyler. |
