Memorial Day blitz yields 75 citations According to Jackson Police Chief Charles Burge, officers issued a total of 75 citations for various infractions during the four-day Memorial Day Click It or Ticket blitz, which took place May 25-28. Burge said no officers took days off during that time, with each working full shifts. Officers issued 43 citations for seat belt violations and two child restraint citations. Seven citations were written for no proof of insurance and nine tickets for invalid driver's license infractions, which included driving without a license, driving while revoked and driving with a suspended license. Moving violations included four for speeding, two for passing in a no passing zone and one for failing to stop at a stop sign. Other violations cited included an arrest for possession of marijuana, one for possession of drug paraphernalia, a minor in possession of alcohol, violation of the open container law and failure to display a license plate.
Two arrests were made on warrants for failure to appear in court.
