Jackson man cut in Friday altercation A Jackson man was treated for knife wounds following an altercation Friday, June 1, around 11:30 p.m. at a residence on East Midway Street in Jackson. According to Jackson Police Investigator Richard Harvey, Jerry Lee Lewis, 40, received six lacerations and puncture wounds to his neck and head during an altercation with Brian Todd, 19, of Oak Street, Jackson. Cpl. Rudy O'Neal was the first of several officers to arrive on the scene. Harvey said by the time the officer arrived, Lewis had been transported to Jackson Medical Center by private vehicle for treatment. Also responding were Harvey, Sgt. Dexter Hunt, Chief Charles Burge and Officer Jonathan Downey. Todd was placed under arrest and booked into the Clarke County Jail on a charge of second degree assault. Burglaries reported Jackson Police are investigating two burglaries that reportedly occurred Sunday night, June 3, one in the 200 block of McIntyre Street and the other in the 500 block of East Pearl Street. According to Inv. Harvey, entry to both residences was gained through the back doors. Anyone with information concerning these incidents are asked to call the Jackson Police Department at 246-4484. Missing person report a false alarm According to Inv. Harvey, Jackson Police were kept busy early Saturday morning with the report that a 14-year-old female was missing. After several hours of searching, the teenager was found at a neighbor's house where she had gone to sleep. Other reports Other incidents reported by Jackson Police included: *Two forgeries at B&A Seafoods; *Lesedrick James Adams, 33, of Leroy was arrested June 1 and charged with third degree theft of property after allegedly stealing $70 worth of steaks from the Pic N Sav grocery store on College Avenue. *Several parked vehicles were reportedly damaged June 2 on McVay Road by an unknown subject who reportedly threw an object at the passenger side of the vehicles. At least one window was broken in one of the vehicles, which were parked between Dallas Lane and C.C. Brunson Road. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Jackson Police at 246-4494.
*A three-car collision with no injuries was reported to have occurred June 2, during a bucket drop near the intersection of College and Forest avenues. According to Chief Burge, the incident occurred when a child participating in the event walked into the path of a vehicle causing the driver to stop abruptly and the vehicle behind it to crash into its rear. A third vehicle struck the rear of the second vehicle as a result of the incident.
