Lucy graduates with bachelor's of science
On May 5, 2007, Shanita Smith Lucy graduated from the University of West Alabama with a bachelor's of science degree in computer information systems.

Graduating with a 3.3 gradepoint average, her honors include Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity, Blue Key Honor Society, Omieron Delta Kappa Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society, Who's Who Among College Students and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Married to Elliott J. Lucy Sr., also a graduate of the University of West Alabama, she is the daughter of Elder Christopher and Minister Thea Smith. The graduate is continuing her education working toward a master's in counseling and psychology.
