Andrea Bolen accepted into UA summer honors program

Andrea Bolen
Andrea Bolen has been accepted into the Capstone Summer Honors Program (CHSP) at the University of Alabama.

She was one of only 34 students selected to participate.

The Capstone Summer Honors Program is a month-long residential program for high school juniors. Students take regular college-level courses and earn seven or eight semester hours of college credit.

To be eligible, students must have taken the PSAT, SAT or ACT as the scores are part of the application. Admission to CSHP is competitive. Students should have an ACT composite score of 25+ or an SAT score of 1130+ and rank in the top 20 percent of their high school class.

To apply, students must send a copy of their transcript, three letters of recommendation from teachers and/or guidance counselors, a resume and an essay in which they discuss their interests and goals as well as why they wish to participate in CSHP.

Classes began June 5 and will end on July 5.

Bolen is a student at Jackson High School and is the daughter of Keith and Kay Bolen of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of Marlin and Carreen Bolen, and Andy Counselman of Jackson and Martha Martin of North Carolina.
