Zakary receives AU merit and tuition scholarships

Jeremy Zakary, son of Bobbie and Ray Zakary of Mentone and Jana Zakary of Atlanta, Ga., received both merit and tuition scholarships from Auburn University as well as a monetary scholarship from the Second Baptist Church in Ft. Payne where he attends.
Graduating from Ft. Payne High School, May 25, 2007, he was a member of the national honor society, receiving awards of achievement in English 12 and honors Chemistry II Dual Enrollment with the second highest grade in both classes. As a three-year member of the band, he also received a senior band award.
He received an outstanding academic excellence award and a certificate of achievement for maintaining an overall A average in academic courses during high school attendance. He also received an advanced diploma and maintained a 4.0 gradepoint average.
Zakary is the grandson of Delores and Raymond Zakary and great-grandson of Nellie Brown, all of Jackson.
