Peniel Baptist homecoming

Homecoming at Peniel Baptist Church of Jackson will be on Sunday, June 10. Bro. Grady Goodman, former pastor, will be the guest speaker.

Morning service will begin at 11, followed by a covered dish lunch in the fellowship hall and a singing in the afternoon. Pastor Shannon Moses invites all to attend.

VBS scheduled at St. Union Baptist

"Game Day Central, Where Heroes Are Made" is the theme for this year's Vacation Bible School at St. Union Baptist Church in Leroy. Classes will be June 11-15, 5:30 - 8 nightly. There will be something for all ages said the Rev. R.A. Chaney, pastor.

Pastor's 12th anniversary celebration

The 12th anniversary of the Rev. James Chaney will be celebrated by Cedar Point Baptist Church on Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m. The church is located on Highway 31 in the West Bend community of Coffeeville.

Speaker and guests for this special occasion will be the Rev. Donald Reed and his congregation of the New Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville.

Wes Brown guest speaker

Thomasville Church of Christ

Thomasville Church of Christ, located at the corner of 3rd Street and Worl, will conduct a gospel meeting June 10-15. Brother Wes Brown will be the guest speaker.

Services on Sunday will be 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday evenings will be at 7:30.

Thalon performs June 15 at MHS

The United Methodist churches of the northwest area of Washington County are sponsoring a Christian concert and revival, one night only, Friday, June 15, 5 p.m. at Millry High School.

Thalon, a youth singing group from California, will be performing. The Rev. Nathan Attwood, youth director of the Alabama West Florida United Methodist Conference will be the speaker.

Pastor Bill Messer invites all to attend.

Stave Creek VBS registration

Vacation Bible School will be June 11-15 from 5:45-8:30 p.m. at Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson.

Everyone is invited for early registration and homemade ice cream on Sunday, June 10 at 5:30 p.m.

Game Day Central at Wagarville

Wagarville Baptist Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School during the week of June 18-22. Registration will be Saturday, June 16 at 5 p.m. preceded by a parade and tailgate party.

VBS will begin 5 - 8 p.m., Monday, with a registration time at 4:30. Children ages 3 years old through 6th grade are invited to attend. Each child will meet the 2A state champions from Leroy High School and receive an autographed baseball and football at the end of the week. There will also be a moon jumper and a gigantic slip-n-slide.

All activities begin at the church and participation is free.

Annual Mission Day Goodwill Missionary

All are invited to the Annual Mission Day program at the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladon Springs, the Rev. Robert L. Jackson pastor, on Sunday, June 24 at 2 p.m.

The guest speaker and special guests will be the Rev. Johnnie Heartfield and the choir and congregation of the New Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

Musical workshop June 21-22

The Rev. Frederick Thompson Sr., pastor and Deacon Charles Johnson, minister of music of Pine Chapel Baptist Church No. 2 announce a music workshop in memory of Edn'Drika Henderson, June 21-22 at 6 each evening.

Clinicians will be Joe Merida Jr. of Enterprise, James Jones Jr. of Birmingham, Dr. jeffery Merida of Thomasville and Thomas Edward Pugh of Columbus, Ga.

'Facing the Giants'

at First Assembly June 10

"Facing the Giants" will be presented Sunday, June 10 at 6 p.m. in the First Assembly of God sanctuary.

The film addresses the challenges of trusting in the power of faith. The main character learns to never give up, never back down and never lose faith.

First Assembly of God is located on Highway 69 across from the National Guard Armory.

Musician's Appreciation

at Good Hope Missionary

The Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church family will be having an Annual Musician's Appreciation Sunday, June 10 at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Leonard Frazier, pastor of Stonewall Baptist Church of Chatom, along with his congregation, are the special guests.

Vacation Bible School will begin Monday, June 11 and continue through Friday, June 15 at 5:45 nightly. The theme is Mission World Tour 2007, "I'm on a mission!"

All are invited said Pastor Derrick Powell.

Greater New Hope celebrates Youth Day

The Rev. Al Smith, pastor of the King's Chapel Baptist Church of Yarbo, will be the guest speaker for the Annual Youth Day at Greater New Hope A.M.E. Church of Millry. This event will take place Sunday, June 10 at 2:30 p.m. All are invited to attend said the Rev. Ivory James, pastor.
