MS Pecan Festival Sept. 28-30 The MS Pecan Festival is taking applications for arts and craft booths, antiques and collectables, children's activities and food booths. VFW and Ladies Auxiliary meetings VWF Post 5355 and Ladies Auxiliary meet the third Thursday of every month, 6 p.m. at the VFW Club on Club Wiley Road. Members are urged to attend and new members are welcome Mannie B. Johns board meets The Mannie B. Johns Area YPD Executive Board meeting will be Friday, June 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wilson Chapel A.M.E. Church in Grove Hill. Following the business session, the seniors of 2007 and the recipients of the Area Scholarship will be named and honored with a graduation reception in the fellowship hall. Regina Philen, a native of Fulton, will be the guest speaker. She is employed by the Monroe County School system. Recipients are Vanesta Ambrose, local YPD director, Annye Owens, area YPD director and Rev. Levi Marshall is the pastor. Republican Executive Committee to meet The Clarke County Republican Executive Committee will hold a meeting at Gloria's Pour House in Grove Hill, June 13 at 6 p.m. The public is welcome.
