Stephen Ray Carpenter Stephen Ray Carpenter, 45, died May 22, 2007 at his residence in Leroy. A native of Jackson, Mr. Carpenter was an E & I mechanic for Weyerhaeuser operations, a member of First Baptist Church of Leroy and considered to be a loyal friend and family man. He is survived by his parents, Carolyn and Carlton Carpenter of Jackson; his wife Tracey R. Carpenter of Leroy; two sons, Stephen Clay Carpenter and William Taylor Rawls Carpenter, both of Leroy; daughter, Raechel Jane Carpenter of Leroy; brother, Stacy Carl Carpenter of Jackson; sister, Stephanie Ann Allen of Rockville; and grandparents, Martha Powell and Margie Etheredge, both of Leroy.
Funeral services were May 24 at the First Baptist Church of Leroy with the Rev. James Watkins officiating. Interment was in the New Leroy Baptist Church Cemetery with Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson directing.
