Church Calendar Greater Pilgrim Rest hosts benefit A benefit program will be held for Margleen Berry at the Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Walker Springs. Hosted by The Anointed Angels, the event will be Saturday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. All groups, choirs and soloists are invited said the Rev. Mulvoy Taylor Jr., pastor. Pleasant Grove Baptist homecoming Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on County Road 3 will have homecoming on June 3 at 11 a.m. Pastor Roger Keel will be the speaker. Fellowship and lunch will follow the service. The Rev. Chris Kynard will speak at a revival, June 4-6, at 7 each evening. There will be special singers every night. All are welcome to attend. St. Paul A.M.E. Men and Women's Day An annual Men and Women's Day is planned for June 3, 2 p.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Carlton. The Rev. T.L. Douglas, pastor at Grove Hill Baptist Church in Uriah and Mackey Branch Baptist Church in Gosport, will be the speaker. The Rev. Georgia P. Nash, pastor, and Clairetta H. Peoples, secretary, invite the public to attend. Choir Night Celebration An annual Choir Night Celebration will be conducted on Saturday, June 2, 7 p.m. at Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladon Springs. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Willie Causey, along with Shady Grove Baptist Church choir as the guest choir. The Rev. Robert L. Jackson, pastor, invites the public to attend. Men's conference 2007 The Men's Conference 2007 will be presented by Pastor Willie Shinn and Minister Estella Shinn of Trumpet Ministries No. 2. The theme for this event is "Men Making a Come Back!" Activities will be June 4-8 at 7:30 nightly. St. Matthew pastor appreciation A Pastor Appreciation Day will be conducted on Sunday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew No. 1 Baptist Church in Manila. The Rev. and Mrs. Willie Causey will be the honored guests. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Robert Taylor, pastor of Antioch A.M.E. Methodist Church of Alma. Choir celebration at Springfield A.M.E. A choir celebration including the Rev. Clayton Davis and the Sounds of Joy, Saturday, June 2 at 6:30 p.m. and Life Tech Gospel Chorus of Thomasville, Sunday, June 3 at 2:30 p.m. will be held at Springfield A.M.E. Zion Church. "All soloists, choirs and groups are encouraged to take part in songs of praise," said the Rev. Edward Seabron Sr., pastor. Stave Creek VBS registration Vacation Bible School will be June 11-15 from 5:45-8:30 p.m. at Stave Creek Baptist Church in Jackson. Everyone is invited for early registration and homemade ice cream on Sunday, June 10 at 5:30 p.m. Love celebration for Mitchells set Foreman Chapel will be having a love celebration for Elder Arthur Mitchell and Pastor/ Prophetess Vera Mitchell. The event will be hosted by the TrueBorn Miracle Restoration Temple Holiness Church and their pastor Bishop Booker T. Thomas. The celebration will continue through Saturday, June 2 at 7 each evening, and climax on Sunday, June 3 at 3 p.m. All are invited to attend. Choirs are asked to sing an "A" selection. Game Day Central at Wagarville Wagarville Baptist Church will be hosting Vacation Bible School during the week of June 18-22. Registration will be Saturday, June 16 at 5 p.m. preceded by a parade and tailgate party. VBS will begin 5 - 8 p.m., Monday, with a registration time at 4:30. Children ages 3 years old through 6th grade are invited to attend. Each child will meet the 2A state champions from Leroy High School and receive an autographed baseball and football at the end of the week. There will also be a moon jumper and a gigantic slip-n-slide. All activities begin at the church and participation is free. 2007 Pentecost and revival meeting The 2007 Pentecost and revival meeting will be Sunday, June 3 at the Full Gospel Apostolic Church of God in St. Stephens. Sunday School will be at 10 a.m., midday service at 12 noon with Bishop Theodore Law presiding. The revival, Monday through Thursday, will be 7:30 nightly. Speakers Bishop W.L. McGrew of C & J Holiness Church of Silas and Overseer Willie D. Wimberley of C & J Holiness Church, Apostle Freddie Ford of Alfa & Omega Holiness of Alabama and Mississippi, and Overseer Raymond McConnell of Glorious Temple of Lower Peachtree. Bishop Theodore Law, pastor and founder, invites all to take part. New Canaan hosts anniversary program The New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church of Choctaw Bluff will host a Pastor's Anniversary program Sunday, June 3 at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Lamar Brady, pastor of the First Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church of Magazine. Pastor Van William Sr. invites all to attend. Annual Mission Day Goodwill Missionary All are invited to the Annual Mission Day program at the Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Bladon Springs, the Rev. Robert L. Jackson pastor, on Sunday, June 24 at 2 p.m.
The guest speaker and special guests will be the Rev. Johnnie Heartfield and the choir and congregation of the New Rock Missionary Baptist Church.
