Robinson - Meda plan June wedding
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Joe Thompson Sr. and the late Mr. & Mrs. Calvin Robinson Sr., all of Jackson. Agraduate of Jackson High School, she received a bachelor of science degree in materials engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is receiving a Ph.D. in materials engineering from Tuskegee University. She is presently employed at Tuskegee University as an instructor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. While pursuing her Ph.D., she has received numerous awards and recognitions for her work in nanocomposite materials. In addition she has authored several conference proceedings and journal publications. Robinson is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. The groom-elect is a graduate of Lynn Classical High School in Lynn, Mass. He received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Salem State College and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Northeastern University. He is currently employed as a chemistry professor at Auburn University. Prior to becoming a faculty member at Auburn University, Meda was employed at Excellatron Solid State, LLC in Atlanta, Ga. where he authored two patents in the durability of lithium-ion batteries. In addition, he has also authored several journal publications. The couple will be united in marriage on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at Parkway Baptist Church in Auburn.
A pre-wedding celebration hosted by the bride-elect's parents will be held at the Kimbell House in Jackson on June 2.
