Choctaw County Heritage Festival May 30 - June 2

The Choctaw County Heritage Festival is slated for May 30-June 2 in Gilbertown with gospel music, country music and more scheduled.

The Heritage Church will hold a gospel singing Wednesday night, May 30 at 7 p.m.

The Ballet and Theater Arts Performing Companies will present "Smoke on the Mountain, Friday, May 25, Saturday, May 26 and Thursday, May 31, at 8:00 each night; and Sunday, May 27 at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and available by calling 251-843-5138.

The Southern Choctaw High School football field south of Gilbertown will be set up for musical events starting Friday night, June 1.

A gospel bluegrass singing will be at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and available at Choctaw County businesses or at the gate.

Groups scheduled to perform include Crimson City Quartet, Cullomburg Quartet, The Lindsey Family, Jimmy Mosley and Southern Praise.

A parade will be held in downtown Gilbertown at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 2.

The winner of this competition will open Saturday night's country music show.

An arts and crafts show and food concessions will be located in downtown Gilbertown on Saturday. Call the Town Hall to reserve a spot, 251-843-2766.

Clay Walker and Rhett Akins will be the featured entertainment Saturday night. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 each and available at Choctaw County businesses as well as Merchants Bank in Jackson and all First United Security banks.
