Lady Bears season ends at Houston Academy

The Leroy Lady Bears had their season come to a close this past weekend as they lost a threegame series in three games to the Lady Raiders of Houston Academy.
In game one of the second round series, the Raiders held the Bears to three hits and won 6-0. Jamie Jones, Jessica Givens, Kristian Atchison, Megan Goldman and Alex Vick all had one hit each for Leroy. The Raiders used a four-run first to defeat Leroy.
Heather Ryland started pitching for Leroy and earned the win in a 4-3 decision in favor of Leroy. The Raiders took a 3-1 lead into the fifth, but Leroy used a three run fifth to defeat Houston Academy. In the fifth, Givens, Jones, Atchison and Jennifer Overstreet used four striaght singles to earn those runs.
Despite jumping out to an early 1-0 lead in game three, Houston Academy took Leroy 7-3 and earned a spot in Montgomery to face J.B. Pennington.
