Prenuptial parties honor Chastain-Coupland

Emily Chastain and Christopher Coupland, both of Gulf Shores, have been honored at several recent events.

Kitchen & Recipe Shower

The parlor of the First United Methodist Church of Jackson was the setting on April 22, 2007 for a kitchen and recipe shower honoring Emily Chastain, brideelect of Christopher Coupland.

Hosting the event were Janet McCants of Jackson, and Kathy Coffman, Wanda Moseley and Jeannie Powell, all of Leroy.

Special guests included Linda Chastain, mother of the brideelect, and sisters Kasey Fleming and Mary Caylor Chastain, all of Jackson.

Guests were served an array of food. Punch was served along with coffee from a silver service.

Miss Chastain was presented a cooking roaster matching her chosen cookware and a recipe book containing each guest's favorite recipe from the hosts.

Cocktail Party on the Bay

Saturday, April 28, Miss Chastain and Mr. Coupland were honored with a cocktail party at the bay home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Boykin.

Special guests attending were Linda and Jackie Chastain, parents of the bride-elect, and Margo and Ronnie Eades of Kimberly, parents of the prospective groom, along with grandmother Nelda Coupland of Pell City.

A luau theme was used throughout the home and yard. Round tables with green, blue and yellow overlays were placed on the lawn under ancient oak trees.

Guests were served assorted heavy hors d'oeuvres and assorted pastries.

Bridal Coffee

A bridal coffee honoring Miss Chastain was held May 5 at the Christian Life Center parlor of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Joe Boone, Mrs. Mike Breedlove, Mrs. David Brown, Mrs. Jake Brown, Mrs. Kenny Burnette, Mrs. Morgan Daniels, Mrs. Earl Flowers, Mrs. Jim Fore, Mrs. Hines Heathcock, Mrs. Buddy Noble, Ms. Marsha Taylor and Mrs. John Winters co-hosted the affair.

Guests registered at the door and were greeted by Miss Chastain along with her mother and the mother of the groom.

Puff pastries, cheese straws, roasted pecans, fruit, mozzarella pinwheels, sausage balls, lemon tarts, cocktail sausage with bacon and assorted juices and coffee were served.

The bride was presented a place setting of her china and flatware by the hostesses.

Cocktail Party

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Long of Jackson was the setting for a cocktail party honoring the couple.

Co-hosting the event were Mr. and Mrs. Mac McCorquodale and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Guy.

A colorful paper lantern hanging from the center of the carport and a round table holding a large crystal vase of flowers grown in Mrs. McCorquodale's garden decorated the entrance area. Miniature white lights accented the courtyard and pool area. Music performed by Bob Chaney of Grove Hill entertained guests during the evening.

Special guests included the parents of the couple, as well as Emily and Jeb Shell of Mobile, and Catherine Bounds of Birmingham.
