New generator tested
The new generator at Jackson's water treatment plant is now fully installed and operational. The equipment was tested Tuesday afternoon, when the plant was switched over from main power to generator power. The process just took about 20 seconds to complete. During the test the generator operated at 200 kilowatts, enough to run the entire facility, which is good news for Jackson's citizens with the beginning of hurricane season just two weeks away. On hand for Tuesday's test (L-R) were Jackson City Councilman Paul South, Calvin Cassady of the Cassady Company Inc., Tuscaloosa, Plant Manager Paul Thomas, Jackson Water Board Chairperson Sarah Higginbotham and Jackson City Administrator Jesse Miller.
