      Crystal L. Powell and William Joseph "Jody" Ryser, both of Jackson, were united in marriage at the Gulf Shores Wedding Chapel in Gulf Shores. The Rev. Charles D. Andrews officiated the event on March 25, 2007 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon.

Jackson teen selected to attend Ruben Studdard Music camp in Dothan
      William Law from Jackson in Clarke County was selected as an instrumentalist to attend Ruben Studdard Music Camp June 4 through 8 in Dothan. The camp will be held at Wallace Community College. The camp is designed to promote the growth and development of amateur musicians.

      Author of the recently published book Alabama Moon, Watt Key, will do a reading and book signing at White Smith Memorial Library on Thursday, May 24 at 1 p.m. The setting of the story is in central Alabama during the 1980s.
