William Franklin Thompson

William Franklin "Manny" Thompson, 77, a native of Yarbo and a resident of Fruitdale, died May 7, 2007 at a family residence. Before retiring, he was the owner and operator of Chatom Saw Shop and a member of Springhill Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Tammy Scarbrough Meinhardt of Fruitdale and Kimberly J. Kelly of Bay Minette; two sons, Danny Hosford of Fruitdale and Ricky Hosford of Citronelle; a brother, James R. Thompson of Alexander City; two sisters, Jimmie A. Chancery of Mobile and Dorothy M. Cox of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; aunt, Orell Carpenter Rouse of Lucedale, Miss.; 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

The funeral service is Thursday, May 10 (today) at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Lathan Funeral Home in Chatom. Interment will be in Springhill Cemetery in Chatom.
