Loper - Holt to say vows June 16 at Calvary Baptist

Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Vann Loper of Jackson announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Samantha Leann, to David Wayne Holt of Muscle Shoals, the son of Leella Holt and Wayne Holt, both of Muscle Shoals.

The wedding will be an event of Saturday, June 16, 2007, 4 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Houston Loper of Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Bradley.

AJackson High School graduate, she received a bachelor of science degree in chemical and biological engineering from the University of Alabama (UA) in Tuscaloosa. While at UA she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, various honor societies and vice president of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. She co-oped with Kimberly Clark Corporation as a process engineer for a semester in Paris, Texas, as a research and development engineer in Atlanta, Ga. and process engineer in Corinth, Miss. while in college. She is currently employed with Southern Heat Exchanger in Tuscaloosa as a project engineer.

Grandparents of the groomelect are Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Shook and Jean Holt, all of Muscle Shoals and the late Roy Eugene Holt.

Mr. Holt, a graduate of Muscle Shoals High School, will graduate in May 2007 from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa with a bachelor of science degree in chemical and biological engineering and a minor in a computer based honors program. He graduated summa cum laude and is currently one semester away from a master's degree in chemical and biological engineering.

Holt has accepted a full scholarship to attend the University of Alabama School of Law in the fall.

While at UA he was president of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Ambassadors of the College of Engineering, Omicron Delta Kappa and other honor societies. He co-oped with MeadWestvaco as a controls engineer for three semesters and currently works with the Alabama Institute of Manufacturing Excellence at UA.

Family and friends are invited to attend through the medium of the press.

A reception will immediately follow the ceremony at the historic Jemison-Van De Graaff Mansion in Tuscaloosa.
