Ellie Wilson named Clarke County Junior Miss

Clarke County High School juniors did well in the Clarke County Junior Miss program Saturday, capturing four of the top awards during the program at the school's Sage Auditorium in Grove Hill. Ellie Wilson, the daughter of Bruce and Rhonda Wilson of Grove Hill was selected as Clarke County's 2008 Junior Miss Saturday night.

She is a junior at Clarke County High School. She also won the scholastic award, the interview award, was second runner-up for the talent award and won the essay award.

Her winnings included a Presidential Scholarship to Alabama Southern Community College, $2,850 in other book and tuition scholarships, three Revere bowls, flowers and the Junior Miss medallion.

Keke Cummings, a junior at Clarke County High School and the niece of Eddie and Sheryl Bonner was selected as first runner-up.

She was also the winner of the talent award, winner of the fitness award, first runner-up for the interview award and first runner-up for the poise award.

Her winnings included a $2,500 scholarship to Alabama Southern Community College, $2,100 in other book and tuition scholarships and two Revere bowls.

Whitney Drinkard, the daughter of Dennis and Wanda Drinkard and a junior at Clarke County High School was selected as second runner-up.

She was also first runner-up for the talent award, first runnerup for the fitness award and second runner-up for the poise award.

Her winnings included a $2,500 scholarship to Alabama Southern Community College and $1,000 in other book and tuition scholarships.

Schaefer Bradford, a junior at Clarke County High School and the daughter of Fred and Jaimi Bradford was selected as third runner-up.

She was also the winner of the poise award, first runner-up for the scholastic award and second runner-up for the interview award.

Her winnings included $1,200 in book and tuition scholarships and a Revere bowl.

Chelsea Beverly, the daughter of Robin and LeAnne Beverly and a junior at Jackson High School, was selected as fourth runner-up.

Her winnings included $675 in book and tuition scholarships.

Amanda Champion was chosen by the contestants for the Spirit of Junior Miss award. She is a junior at Clarke Preparatory School and is the daughter of Al Champion and the late Teresa Champion.

Her winnings included $425 in book and tuition scholarships and a Revere bowl.

Natalie Rake, the daughter of Jeff and Shirley Rake and a junior at Thomasville High School, also won the scholastic award.

Her winnings included $650 in book and tuition scholarships and a Revere bowl.

Chelsey Nichols, a junior at Jackson High School and the daughter of David Nichols, was second runner-up for the scholastic award.

Camelia Forte', the daughter of Valerie Forte' and a junior at Thomasville High School, was second runner-up for the fitness award.
