JHS Lady Aggies prepare for tourney
On Tuesday, the Lady Aggies knocked off Citronelle 8-0 at the hands of a complete game effort by Danielle Gill. Ashley Brannan added three hits while Tiffany Beckham added two. Savannah Autry, Gill, Lynn Porter, Ashley Jordan, Bridget Chancey and Katie Alford all had hits as well. In a rare Wednesday game this past week, the Aggies split a doubleheader with UMSWright. In the first game, the Aggies took the win 10-6. Beckham added two hits while Gill and Autry brought in three hits. The Bulldogs took the second game 8-2. Brittany Harrell and Brannan had two hits each. The tournament started on Friday with Jackson knocking off Thomasville and Leroy in pool play. They defeated the Tigers 5-2 before knocking off the Bears 5-3. On Saturday, the Aggies first game in the tournament was against Thomasville as they took a 5-2 loss before defeating Leroy again 9-3. In the championship, the Aggies fell to Thomasville 5-3.
The Aggies would also defeat Leroy on Monday by a 5-4 count in eight innings. Gill had the game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth inning with the bases full of Aggies. Chancey and Autry added two hits for Jackson.
