April 23

JA 13-CH 0

In their last home game of the season the Lady Eagles (17-9) defeated the 3A Cottage Hill Warriors 13-0. Bailey Pringle (17-7 5IP 2H 3K 1BB) pitched the complete game shutout. Kayla Coleman, Laci Wright and Amy Thomas' hits were triples, driving in three runs. Evin Bowling, Kayla Lowery and Pringle added hits. Pringle had two RBIs while Bowling swiped two more bases.

It was also Senior Recognition Day for the Eagles' three seniors, Coleman, Wright and Pringle. "It really was a bittersweet day; these three seniors have stepped up their game and provided a lot of leadership for us this year. They'll be tough to replace and we will miss them," said Coach Pringle.

April 24 JA 16, WA 0 The Eagles (18-9) completed regular season play in Camden with a 17-0 shutout over Wilcox Academy. This left the Eagles with a perfect 6-0 area record. Pringle (18-7 4IP 3H 3K 2BB) was the winning pitcher.

Pringle and Wright led the Eagle 17-hit attack, each going 3-4. Pringle had a double with three RBIs, while Wright added four RBIs to her credit. Evin Bowling, Coleman, Amy Thomas and Nataline Moseley each had two hits. Coleman and Thomas each had a double. Kayla Lowery, Sydney Thomas and Anna Meitzler also had hits.

"This was without a doubt the best I've seen us hit. Everything we hit was solid, a lot of hard line drivers. Right now we are playing with a lot of confidence. Our defense, hitting and pitching have been pretty solid lately. Hopefully, we can take this momentum into the state playoffs and continue to win. I think we've got as good of a chance as anyone, if we can just keep doing the fundamental stuff we've worked on all year," said Pringle.

The JA Junior Varsity (9-3) ended the season with a 9-3 mark, losing 8-5 to Wilcox. Maggie Bowling pitched four innings before being relieved by Kayla Lowery.

Lowery led the Eagles at the plate going 2-2. Sydney Thomas, Nataline Moseley and Anna Meitzler contributed one hit each.

Pringle commented, "We got into some trouble in the third inning and gave up six runs and just couldn't get it back together. It happens sometimes; that's why it's so important that these younger girls get playing time. Over all they did a great job this year and I think they will give us a lot of talent on the field in the next several years."
