Culture Fest set for Saturday

The annual Culture Fest, sponsored by Genesis Inc. and the city of Jackson is planned for Saturday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on the grounds of Jackson City Hall and offers a fun time for the entire family.

The day will feature entertainment, food, games and exhibitions. There will be an adult pound cake competition and a children's favorite cookie competition. Prizes will be awarded.

Entertainment will include performances by Roman Street, The Dixie Disciples, Jackson Male Chorus, Ezell Contemporary Dance Studio, The Heavenly Angels, Humble Spirits, New Joyful Wonders and Kim Tooks.

There will be an aerobic boxing exhibition by boxer Roy King as well as a basketball shoot-out and hole-in-one game. Inflatable bouncers will be in place for the younger children.

Food vendors will feature everything from barbecue and baked goods to fish, chicken and sweet treats.
