UA cheerleader Jody Reeves receives awards at banquet
Jody Reeves of Jackson, along with three other seniors, were presented with "A Club" rings which represent having participated in sports for four years and having fulfilled requirements for graduation from UA. Reeves was also presented the Patti Rawlinson Most Outstanding Cheerleader Award. The award is voted on by the members of the cheerleading squad and is based on leadership and qualities of being an outstanding ambassador for the university. The banquet, given in honor of the UA Varsity Cheerleaders, was conducted at the University Club in Tuscaloosa. Guest speaker was former defensive coordinator and interim coach, Joe Kines. Chapter president Lynn McColl welcomed everyone in attendance.
The 2006-2007 Alabama cheerleaders recently competed in the National Cheerleading Championships which were held in Orlando, Fla. This year's squad finished second in nationals. The competition is aired on ESPN several times throughout the year.
