Video shows JHS computer theft Jackson Police are investigating a weekend burglary of Jackson High School (JHS) in which two laptop computers were stolen. According to Chief Charles Burge, two black males were caught on the school's video surveillance around 6 p.m., Saturday, April 28, taking the computers from the school. The suspects were apparently aware they were being recorded because they kept their shirts pulled over their faces to conceal their identities. Burge said the computers were valued at approximately $3,300. One was taken from the chorus room and the other from the first aid room. Entry into the school was gained through a door on the back side of the building. This is not the first time JHS has been struck by burglars. Fifteen football helmets were taken from the equipment storage area adjacent to the gymnasium on Jan. 14 and 10 computers, valued at approximately $17,000 were stolen from the school's computer lab last June. Southwest Wireless burglarized In a separate incident, Southwest Wireless, located at 3008 North College Avenue, reported a burglary in which $700 worth of cellular phones were stolen. According to Jackson Police reports, the burglars gained entry through a window.
Detective Richard Harvey is investigating both burglaries. Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to call the Jackson Police Department at 246-4484.
