Four-wheeler ride

and horse show

There will be a four-wheeler ride and horse show on Saturday, May 19 at Sunflower Ball Field in Sunflower. Admission is $7 adults and $3 children. First ride will begin at 10 a.m. It is "ride at your own risk" and is sponsored by the Mt. Shady A.M.E. Zion Church Pastor's Aide Club.

Upscale Treasures

Sale May 12

The Mobile Museum of Art will be conducting their "Upscale Treasures Sale" on Saturday, May 12 at 4415 Old Shell Road, next door to BankTrust. (The event was originally scheduled for April 21) Organizers are looking for appliances, baskets, china, clocks, crystal, exercise equipment, flatware, frames, furniture, glassware, jewelry, lamps, linens, luggage, paintings, photography, pots and pans, pottery, prints, rugs, sculptures, silver, tools and toys. No clothing. Drop off items Monday through Saturday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. through May 7 at sale location. CCAC of ASU

hosting banquet

Friday

The Clarke County Alumni Chapter of Alabama State University (ASU) will be conducting their annual banquet on Friday, May 4, 7 p.m. at the Fish House in Jackson. Judge Jo Celeste Pettway of Wilcox County will be the featured speaker. Tickets are $10 per person. For more information contact Anola F. Holly at 251-246- 3036.

Auditions scheduled

May 10-12

Auditions for "Everyman, The Musical" are scheduled for Thursday and Friday, May 10 -11 from 3-5 p.m. and Saturday, May 12, 1-5 p.m. at the Clarke County High School Auditorium in Grove Hill. "Everyman" is a musical comedy based on the 16th Century Morality (Church) Play. Rehearsals will begin in June and continue through the third week in July. Performances will be July 20-22.

Talented teens in Clarke and surrounding counties who can act, sing or dance, should tryout. Auditions should include a oneminute monologue, a song sung acapella and a reading from the script. The play is sponsored by the Grove Hill Arts Council and the Promise Theater and Performing Arts Center in Jackson. JHS Class of 1987

The Jackson High School Class of 1987 will be conducting a reunion meeting on Sunday, May 20, 3 p.m. at Visitation Catholic Church in Jackson. The reunion is set for July 21 at the VFW Club in Jackson. The fee for attending the reunion is $75 and is due by June 1. Children's Summer

Art Camp

The Mobile Museum of Art will conduct a weeklong art camp for children ages 7-12, July 30 through Aug. 3 in Grove Hill.

Children will meet Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. until noon with art instructors from the Mobile Museum of Art. Work will include oils, watercolors and other art mediums.

The Jackson High School Class of 1978 will be conducting a meeting on Sunday, May 6 at the Jackson Steakhouse at 6 p.m. to make plans for a class reunion. All interested class members should be present.

Sullivan reunion May

The 9th annual Sullivan Reunion is set for Saturday, May 5 at the Wagarville Senior Citizen Building (behind the old school) from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Descendants, relatives and friends of Margaret and Lewis "Tiny" Sullivan, Nellie Belle and Willie Sullivan, Mamie and Henderson Sullivan, Annie Belle and Jim Thompson, Dick and Reginald Sullivan, Mollie and Levi Sullivan, Bessie and Alex Sullivan and Mattie and D.R. Sullivan are urged to attend. Everyone is asked to bring a covered dish and a soft drink. If planning to sing or perform, be sure to bring your own equipment. Rotary selling

vidalia onions

The Jackson Rotary Club will be selling 10-lb. bags of vidalia onions beginning the first week in May. The proceeds will be used for scholarships and to send children to Camp ASCA. For more information call David Dolbear, 251-246-3697.

Gates Family

Reunion May 5

The descendants of the William and Mary Eve Stifflmire Gates family will be celebrating their family reunion at Ryan's Restaurant on Highway 43 in Thomasville on Saturday, May 5 at 12 noon. Lunch may be purchased from the restaurant menu.

A fellowship and decoration service will follow at the Gates' Family Cemetery on County Road 35 in Syrene at 2 p.m. There will be gospel music and a devotional. Neugent family

reunion May 27

The Neugent families are planning their 7th reunion on Sunday, May 27 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Old Lock One Park. Directions to the park are: take Hwy. 69 north from Jackson to the nine mile marker; turn left on Old Lock One Road about four miles.

Family and friends of the following are invited to attend: John and Ida Neugent, William and Edna Neugent, Henry and Adley Neugent, Earnest and Lena Neugent, Irby and Mamie Neugent, John and Lula Dunn, Bob and Becky Presnell, George and Alice Morgan and Owen and Julia DuBose. Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs and a covered dish.
