Lauren Rodriguez named to U.S. Achievement Academy
      The U.S. Achievement Academy has announced that Lauren Rodriguez of Jackson has been named as a U.S. National Award winner in science. A student at Jackson High School, she was nominated by science teacher, Kim Ketchum.

Davis awarded scholarship
      Takila M. Davis of Whatley has been awarded a $6,000 Trustees Scholarship to attend the University of West Alabama in Livingston. Davis, a senior at Clarke County High School in Grove Hill, plans to major in computer information systems.

Ladies complete computer classes at WSML
      Students recently graduated from computer classes at White Smith Memorial Library. The classes were six weeks and the students learned to use Microsoft Word, saving and attaching documents, sending e-mails, navigating the Internet as well as computer terminology.

JA Jr. Scholar's competes
      The Jackson Academy Junior High School Scholar's Bowl Team won the district championship by defeating its opponents, 390- 50 at Patrician Academy. Sawyer Donald was the high point individual with 90. The team advanced to the state contest in Montgomery where they placed fifth in the state.
