Lady Aggies to host tourney

The Jackson Lady Aggies knocked off Clarke Couny this past week while taking a tough defeat to Monroe County.

In the Monroe County game last week, Tiffany Beckham added a double and triple to the effort. Danielle Gill also singled in the losing effort. The Tigers came away winners over the Lady Aggies 3-2. Monroe County scored their winning run in the fifth inning. Jackson left 19 runners on base in the game.

On Thursday, led by a no-hit pitching effort from Danielle Gill, Jackson defeated Clarke County 9-0. Beckham led the hitting parade with a single and a triple. Gill and Ashley Jordan added two RBIs each while Katie Alford and Ashley Brannan had one each.

The Lady Aggies will be hosting the Jackson Invitational Tournament this weekend which features Jackson, Thomasville, Leroy and UMS-Wright.
