Attend women's conference
More than 200 women from throughout the state attended the Alabama Farmers Federation State Women's Conference April 15-17 at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham. Attending from Clarke County (L-R) were Marie Slade, Julia Dunagan and Duelon Dunagan. Attendees participated in a health fair and attended seminars on misconceptions in agriculture, home improvement, fashion and travel. The Farmers Federation, as a voluntary, non-government organization of farm families, seeks to promote, protect and represent economic, social and educational interests of farm families. The purpose of the federation's women's program in Alabama is to provide an opportunity for women to actively participate in the policy making and policy execution activities of the Alabama Farmers Federation.
