Jackson donates to HIPPY program

The city of Jackson has contributed $5,000 to the HIPPY program that is being developed in Clarke County. Jackson Mayor Richard Long, fourth from left, presents a check to Judy Graham of the local HIPPY board while fellow board members look on. From left are Asbury Daffin, Debra Grayson, Graham, Long and Shannon Odom. HIPPY- Home Instruction for Parents of Pre-School Youngsters- seeks to involve parents and others in their children's lives beginning when they are preschoolers. Studies have shown that early involvement in the education process can make a lot of difference in learning.
