'Kiwanian of the Year'
Delores Fleming (left) was recognized as Jackson's "Kiwanian of the Year" during the Jackson Kiwanis Club's annual meeting, Tuesday, April 24. She was presented with a plaque by club secretary Mildred Bradley. Fleming is a very active member of the club, helping organize meetings, schedule speakers and serving on the board of directors. She is also an active volunteer within the community. She organizes the 'Singing Valentines' each year, which is a fund-raising project for the regional Child Advocacy Center in Grove Hill. Club officers for the new year were also elected during the meeting and three of the club's newest members, Patricia Harvey, Brian Jemison and Robert Waters were inducted. (SA photo by Evan Carden)
