Jackson Aggies win 4A Area 1 crown
On last Tuesday, Thomasville came to town and handed Jackson a 14-6 loss. Jon Luke Jacobs took the loss for the Aggies. The Tigers used four runs in the first and four more in the third to put away the Aggies. Jamie Eckstein went 2-4 with three RBIs while Todd Waller went 2-4. Washington County took their turn on Thursday as they defeated Jackson 6-4. Eckstein took the loss for the Aggies. Waller led the Aggie bats by going 3-4 with two RBIs. On Friday, Leroy knocked off Jackson 12-5. Myer took the loss for the Aggies. SaCody Pickens went 2-3 with a double and a home run while Sam Griffin went 4-4 with an RBI. Myer also went 2-4 with a lead-off double in the first inning.
Jackson (20-8, 5-1) will host UMS-Wright on Thursday. Game time has been changed to 5:30 p.m. The Aggies will compete in the county tournament on Saturday, which will be played in Thomasville. On Tuesday, Jackson will host the first round of the playoffs, against Central-Tuscaloosa. Time is 6 p.m. for the first round game.
