Leadership Clarke County Class of 2007
Leadership Clarke County's Class of 2007 was honored recently at graduation ceremonies in Thomasville at the Alabama Tombigbee Conference Center of Alabama Southern Community College. Those receiving their diplomas (in no particular order) were Lou Boykin, Kevin Brunson, Tony Counselman, Denise Flowers, Debra Grayson, Drew Harrigan, Stephanie Hutchinson, Cynthia Jackson, Megan Paige Jackson, Sheena Lewis, Tina May, Aimee Moore, Becky Neugent, Jackie Newsom, Malissa Perine, Alice Reynolds, Bethany Rush, Pamela Scott, Kim Smith, Renee Smith, Paul South, Leta Stephens, Tommy Thompson, Roy Waite and Kimberly Wilson. Beth Whitehead, director of HealthActions and a founder of Leadership Clarke County, was the guest speaker. Whitehead's speech was motivational as she challenged class members to take what they had learned and begin making their county a better place in which to live. Following Whitehead's remarks each graduate gave an impromptu speech on what the class had meant to him or her. The program ended with a reminder that graduation does not spell the "end" for Leadership participants. Judy Graham challenged the class to find ways to continue to grow as leaders.
