First UMC gets steeple
The Jackson First United Methodist Church received a new edition April 11, when its steeple was installed by Cambellsville Industries of Cambellsville, Ky. The portion of College Avenue in front of the church was blocked off while the steeple was lifted by a large crane and installed (left photo). The Rev. Jim DuFriend said money for the project was raised by the church during the past year. He said measurments of the building were given to the company whose architect came up with several designs, from which the one installed was chosen.
