Outlook focuses on area's growth

Included in today's issue of The South Alabamian is our annual "Outlook" edition, a look at growth and progress in Jackson and the region.

There is much to be optimistic about regarding Jackson and all of Clarke and Washington counties and southwest Alabama.

In Jackson, new businesses are going up right and left. Existing industries are expanding and new ones are either announcing or expecting to do so in the city and the region.

Retail business is good as indicated by the recent announcement by Mayor Richard Long of a 13 percent growth in sales tax revenues for the first quarter of 2007 as compared to the same time period last year.

"Outlook 2007" only touches on some of this growth and excitement. It is hard to convey everything that is going on but we hope we give you a taste of the good things that are happening.
