By Jeremy Sellers SA Reporter

Danielle Gill takes cuts in a recent game.
The Jackson High School Lady Aggies traveled up to Montgomery over the past week to play in the City of Montgomery Tournament at Lagoon Park.

Despite coming off of spring break, the Aggies fought hard against some of the states topranked teams.

In their first game, the Aggies fell to St. James 7-1. Jackson plated their one run in the seventh inning. Tiffany Beckham slammed a triple, which was followed by a fielder's choice by Brittany Harrell. Lynn Porter also went 2-3 for the Lady Aggies

The Lady Aggies would get Eufaula in the nightcap on Friday night as they fell to the Lady Tigers 7-4. Katie Alford went 2-2 while Bridget Chancey got a single and scored a run in the third. Ashley Jordan also added a single to the effort against the Tigers.

After the pool play games on Friday night, they would draw Kinston on Saturday morning. The Lady Bulldogs would knock out the Lady Aggies 5-1. Alford earned another single against Kinston while the Aggies only run came off of a monster home run in the fourth inning off the bat of Beckham.

Lynn Porter fouls a pitch off in a recent contest.
Jackson (17-13) hosted Washington County on Tuesday and will travel north to Thomasville on Thursday. The Lady Aggies will take a weekend off from tournaments this weekend.
