Sex offender fails to register; illegally living with child
By Evan Carden SA Editor

James E. Terry
A convicted sex offender was arrested last week after failing to register with local agencies and was also found to be violating his parole by living with a child.

According to Jackson Police Inv. Richard Harvey, in 1990, James Edward Terry, 58, was convicted of first degree sodomy with a child under the age of 12. Upon his release from prison recently, one of the conditions of his parole prohibited him from living with any child under the age of 12.

Officer Jason Thomas arrested Terry, March 13, at his residence at 101 Hannon Drive after it was discovered that he had failed to register as a convicted sex offender. At the time it was also discovered that he was living with a child under 12 years of age. Both offenses are direct violations of his parole.

Terry was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and booked into the Clarke County Jail.
