CCARC hosts 'Spring Jubilee'
The Clarke County Association for Retarded Citizens (CCARC) hosted its annual Spring Jubilee fund-raising event this past Saturday, March 17, with a large crowd participating in the event. The morning started out with a brisk, cool wind for the 5K Run/One-Mile Fun Walk. Alex Lee (lower, center photo) won the 5K Run in the men's division for the third year in a row, with a time of 18.32. Laura Holt (lower, right photo) took home the women's trophy, clocking a time of 21.54. Top photo: The annual dog show and Do-Dah parade delighted dog lovers of all ages. Trophy winners (L-R) were Abbey Rose, with owner Katlyan Becton - first place in the Funniest category; Inki, held by Destiny English, with owner Charles Brown - first place in both the Most Creative and Canine Vogue categories; Buddy, with owner Dacey Slayton - first prize in the Best Tail Wagger category and Billy, with owner Lara Casey Higginbotham - third place in the Funniest category.
