Lady Aggies compete in Thomasville tourney
They picked up with their first win over the Lady Bulldogs of Sweet Water on Monday 7-0. Brittney Stitcher went seven innings and gave up two hits and two walks and struck out six. Bridget Chancey and Danielle Gill each got two hits in the win while Tiffany Beckham led the team with three hits. In the Thomasville Tournament on Saturday, the Lady Aggies went 1-2 picking up a win over T.R. Miller. In their first game of the tournament, the Aggies took a 3-2 loss to the Lady Panthers of Excel. Savannah Autry went 1-4 while Gill went 1-3. Once again, Beckham led the Aggies with two hits. The Aggies turned around and defeated the Lady Tigers of T.R. Miller 8-6. Gill and Lynn Porter picked up three hits while Ashley Brannon, Emily Allen and Beckham each added two hits. Allen also earned the win against Miller. In what would be their final game of the Thomasville Tournament, the Aggies would lose 11-7 to the eventual champions, the Thomasville Tigers. Autry, Brannon and Brittany Harrell each had one hit. Danielle Gill suffered the loss.
The Lady Aggies (2-7) will travel to Andalusia this week to take part in the Andalusia Invitational Tournament. Jackson is set to take on the Lady Bulldogs from Kinston. Their second game will be against either Pleasant Home or Opp. Jackson will also travel to Washington County on Monday and to Leroy on Tuesday for season games.
