Celebrates 50th anniversary
Slayton Brothers celebrated its 50th anniversary last week with a ribbon cutting and open house, attended by friends, family, city officials, local citizens and representatives of STHIL Corporation. Slayton Brothers owner and founder, Frank Slayton, ceremoniously cut the ribbon with a STHIL chain saw for the occasion. During the open house, Slayton said he attributed the longevity of his company in Jackson to a record of providing good service, while offering quality products to the public. "You can buy a machine anywhere, but good service is what counts," he said. STHIL Corporation provided the funds and manpower to complete a remodel of the Slayton Brothers building, which includes 6,000 square feet of space, with approximately 3,000 square feet of that being the showroom.
