JPD reports arrest of man accused of enticing child

Jackson Police have arrested another man on charges that he allegedly attempted to entice a child for immoral purposes.

According to investigating officer Richard Harvey, Brian Lee Flowers, 21, of Jackson, was arrested March 1. In addition to the enticement charge, he also faces charges of displaying pornographic materials to a minor, as well as theft charges stemming from a separate investigation, in which he is accused of stealing $800 in cash.

He was booked into the Clarke County Jail.

Harvey also said that Roger Dale O'Bryant, a suspect charged with the repeated rape of a child, as reported in last week's edition of The South Alabamian, is also facing charges in Mississippi. "I was contacted last week by Meridian Police who said they have felony warrants on him for sexual battery," he said.

Other arrests

The Jackson Police Department also reported the following arrests during the past week:

+Keyon Wooten, 19, of Toddtown was arrested in connection with 11 forgery cases.

+Rose Cox, 28, and Chavale Moore, 24, were arrested and charged with first degree theft of property in connection with an identity theft investigation.

According to Officer Harvey, the two were employed at Advance America, a payday advance check cashing company in Jackson, and are accused of stealing the identities of customers and writing advances to themselves. First degree theft of property is a felony.

+Cassie Diane Lopez, 25, of Huntsville was arrested March 3 in connection with a theft reported by the owner of the Royal Inn. She is accused of stealing a 27-inch Phillips television, shower curtan and white bath towel, total value estimated at $194.

Chief Charles Burge said a description of Lopez's vehicle was given to the department and Sgt. Willie Williams noticed the automobile parked at the College Avenue Shell Station, where he arrested the suspect. She is charged with third degree theft of property.

+Jackson Police are currently investigating a case of sexual abuse of a 7-year-old child by a 6-year-old child. Chief Burge said due to the sensitive nature of the investigation no more information is available at this time.
