St. Peter's offering Lenten discussions on Wednesdays

St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Jackson is offering Lenten discussions on Wednesdays during Lent.

The programs will be conducted at noon and will begin with a brief daily office in the church, followed by a light lunch in the parish house and discussion of various topics which will conclude shortly before 1 p.m.

The schedule for the month is as follows: March 7, Israel is the faithless one, Judah played the harlot; God's mercy is God's business. Scripture: Jeremiah 3:6-18, Psalm 72, Letter to the Romans 1:28-2:11, Gospel according to John 5:1-18;

March 14, Radical is our God: Forgiveness in the midst of sin. Scripture: Jeremiah 8:18-9:6, Psalms 81 & 82, Letter to the Romans 5:1-11, Gospel according to John 8:12-20;

March 21, Sustenance or signs...Which shall you have for "life?" Scripture: Jeremiah 18:1-11, Psalm 101, Letter to the Romans 8:1-11, Gospel according to John 6:27-40; and March 28, The despoiling of pastures: The need of a good shepherd. Scripture: Jeremiah 25: 30-38, Psalm 128, Letter to the Romans 10:14-21, Gospel according to John 10:1-18.

The public is invited to attend.
