HealthActions Physical Therapy receives recognition

Members attending the Winter conference (L-R) are David Morris, president, Alabama Physical Therapy Association, Beth Whitehead, PT, MPH, CEO of HealthActions; Debbie Powell, PT, BS, OCS, executive director of HealthActions; Johnnie Burnett, PT, MPT; Greg Petty, PT, BS and Carol Johnston, PT, MPT, all physical therapists at HealthActions.
The recent Winter Conference of the Alabama Physical Therapy Association brought statewide recognition to a local physical therapy firm. The conference, conducted at the Marriott Auburn/Opelika Hotel and Conference Center in Opelika, on Jan. 19-20, is an opportunity for physical therapists from around the state to gather and update themselves on the latest techniques and advances in the field of physical therapy.

While attending the conference, members of the HealthActions Physical Therapy and Wellness Center were selected as the recipients of the first "Innovations in Physical Therapy" award. The award will be given periodically to an organization that has "demonstrated futuristic thinking through innovative programming."

"This is an honor shared by all our staff," said Debbie Powell, executive director of HealthActions Physical Therapy and Wellness. "It demonstrates their commitment to ongoing and continuous education and a desire to be on the cutting edge of advances in the practice of physical therapy."
