Owner of 'Top of the Hill' in Perdue speaks to Jackson Woman's Club The Woman's Club of Jackson held their February meeting at the Presbyterian Church. Nancy Burroughs, owner of "Top of the Hill" in Purdue Hill, was the guest speaker. Introducing her was childhood friend, Betty Ann Bounds. Burroughs is an interior decorator whose shop provides decorating services, along with antiques, gifts and home accessories. She gave a talk about decorating trends, classic decor, and helpful hints, accented with humorous stories of her own. Burroughs also provided each member with a gift bag full of "goodies" and a gift certificate to her store. In the business portion of the meeting, it was determined to increase the speaker donation. The club has a policy to donate toward the organization represented by any guest speaker. Mrs. Bob Stewart was voted as the 2007-08 nominating chairperson. Assisting her will be Mrs. Bill Stewart and Mrs. Bobby Bounds. Additionally, applications for the annual Woman's Club Scholarship are due Feb. 15 (today). Hostesses for the meeting included Mrs. Paul Overstreet, Mrs. William Chivers, Mrs. Champ Bowling and Mrs. D.W. McClellan.
Fresh tulips in crystal vases highlighted the decorations. A luncheon of Santa Fe soup and spinach salad was served, culminating with a beautiful red velvet cake to honor the Valentine season.
