Checks presented to public schools
The Jackson City Council made its annual presentation of checks to the local public schools during Tuesday's council meeting. Each school was presented with a check for $50,000. On hand for the presentations (front, L-R) were councilment Daron Bolen, Paul South and Robert Marks, Jackson High School Principal Wanda Roberts, Jackson Intermediate School Principal Mike Bedsole, Gillmore Elementary School Principal Shannon Odom, Jackson Middle School Principal Jessie Taylor, councilmen Eldridge Jackson Jr. and Eddie Huggins, and (back) Mayor Richard Long.
