Etheridge - Walker exchange vows
The Rev. Jim Dufriend of the First United Methodist Church in Jackson officiated the 2 p.m. service conducted in the home of the bride's grandmother, Carolyn Phillips of Sunflower. The bride is the daughter of Angie and Joe Overstreet of Sunflower and Marshall Walker of Jackson. The groom is the son of Julie and Bruce Etheridge and Fleaka and Eric Walker, all of Grove Hill. The bride wore a white silk strapless gown with attached chapel length train. The fitted bodice was accented with crystals and seed pearls. A bouquet of red roses and miniature white calla lilies was tied with sheer white ribbon edged in lace with streamers. Matron of honor was Victoria Bailey of Fairhope, sister of the bride. She carried a bouquet of red carnations and alstroemeria. Serving as best man was Bruce Etheridge of Grove Hill, father of the groom. Reception Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed an assortment of finger foods including cheese balls served with crackers, sandwiches, fruits and vegetables and roasted pecans. The bride's table, covered with a white lace linen cloth held a three-tiered wedding cake accented with red roses and greenery, made by Hester Blankenship of Wagarville, aunt of the bride. Sparkling holiday punch was served from a silver punch bowl which was decorated with holiday greenery. Acamouflage theme was used on the groom's table in honor of his service in the U.S. Army. A three-layered red velvet cake was made by Fleaka Walker, mother of the groom.
The groom is stationed in Ft. Campbell, Ky. and the couple is making their home in Clarksville, Tenn. which is near the base.
