Community help sought for proposed city park
By Evan Carden

A local group of people are hoping to get the city and members of the Jackson community behind them in an effort to create a city park.

Boise nurse Nancy McDonald is leading the effort for the group, who hope to create a 3-5 acre area which can be utilized by people of all ages for various activities. "We want a place that has a playground, picnic areas and a walking trail for anyone to utilize," she said. "We want the community to come together and help raise money for the effort and help put it together as well."

McDonald said she has researched putting in such a park and will make a proposal to the city council at its next meeting Feb. 13, 6 p.m. She is asking that all those who are interested in the proposal to attend the meeting.

"We feel if the community is involved in obtaining it, it will mean more to them and will discourage vandalism and other such activities."

Anyone wishing to obtain more information before Tuesday's city council meeting can call McDonald at 246-4311 or Asbury Daffin at 246- 3255.
