WashCo Cattlemen name 2007 officers
Approximately 120 people attended the Washington County Cattlemen's Association's annual meeting, Thursday, Feb. 1 at the Chatom Civic Center. New officers were elected and installed, and a wrap-up of the 2006 year, along with the annual financial report was presented by Secretary Tommy Fuller. Guest speaker for the event was Alabama Cattlemen's Association District Vice President Charles Reeves, who is a longtime member of the Clarke County Cattlemen's Association. Reeves spoke about the proposed Alabama Department of Transportation regulations, which, if passed, will place new weight restrictions on cattle farmers' vehicles when hauling cattle. Those in attendance were treated to a steak dinner with all the trimmings that included a dessert table featuring numerous sweet delights.
