Atchison elected to national board of tax professionals

Dorothy "Dot" Atchison of Atchison Business Center in Jackson was recently elected to serve a three-year term on the Board of the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP), a nonprofit professional association founded in 1979.

As a board member, Atchison will bring leadership on a national level to network tax professionals together to share information, concerns, offer education and to follow tax legislation issues. She presently serves as vice chair of the Nominations Committee.

Atchison also is vice president of the Alabama/Mississippi Chapter NATP and has served as its president and secretary. She served three years on the IRS Information Reporting Program Advisory Committee (IRPAC) and is currently a member of the IRS/Practitioner Liaison Committee headquartered in Birmingham.
