      Jackson and Clarke County appear to be starting the new year off right with several good business and industrial announcements during what is normally a quiet and sluggish January. New Era Cap is working on a $2 million expansion at its plant in North Jackson.

Clarification was meant to put issue to rest
      A couple of weeks ago The South Alabamian ran a clarification concerning the issue of Get Lost In Jackson and the fact that the top loser for the 2006 program did not receive the top prize of $1,000. Instead, the top prize was awarded to the winner of a drawing.
